Just for Laughs -Safe boy concept !

A new breed of men/boys is seen in the world these days. Or is it just a new concept in the relationships world . The safe guy/boy concept -this term first coined in Farhan Akhtar movie"Karthik Calling Karthik", seemed to be always around even before this movie. The definition is a little vague but goes like this - " Apparently any guy who's the always-there-for-you types, totally reliable, sweet and sensitive (definitely an important clause) ..i am thinking for more obvious qualities...usually need not be flirty, rugged , sweep you off your feet-( as he can't be under the other given restrictions), maybe shy,maybe loves being the victim or maybe rather melodramatic,(I say maybe because these are not mandatory) but I hope you get the idea. In ref to which Deepika Padukone says to Farhan in the movie : " I toh can't even imagine you misbehaving with any girl...can't even imagine". This concept is already seen in How I met Your mother and a bunch of movies.I think it can be a type of guy or also a phase of sorts when a guy is head over heels over some girl - and hey I am not picking these properties randomly , just out of life's experience ...yeah I know sad...as it is ...I have the misfortune of being told repeatedly that I am exactly this type of guy ...My best Friend Rosh says : its called "nice moron types" ,another bandi told me that I am safe nice guy jisko dekhe toh aisa dar hi nahi lagta kehte , totally reliable and will never hit on her types kehte (thus denying me any opportunity even if I wanted to )..and another example: met her for an hour ..got her life history in another ..she told me the same safe boy stuff in another half an hour with her head on my shoulders...and I was also suggested that I will never change and get arranged marriaged by 24 ...all this made me imagine how in the world do I pull it off repeatedly ..seriously ! Anyway..my reactions apart ..returning to the concept I am drawing these qualities from the movies and the sitcom too...and thinking why this breed doesn't deserve a decent girlfriend...............................................................

Argentina and WC 2010 !

There is a mystery surrounding world cup(football) and Argentina this time. The rule with the world cup is that the best football playing team doesn't usually win the world cup , the team who is the luckiest, has the persistence or doggedness to stick around no matter (even with scrappy ,physical goal) wins it. Thats the mystery. The same thing applies to Argentina. That makes memore hopeful this time as I am a Argentina supporter. Why ? I 'll explain that

This time around 2006 my dads bets were on Argentina , and I wasn't a fan then so as the worldcup started with first round (and also partly due to dad's influence) I turned into an Argentina fan . Argentina in 2006 , was a fresh team playing beautiful, free flowing, exciting football, the kind makes it enjoyable . Coached by Jose Pekerman , a coach highly succesful with the youth team winning the world youth championship, brought in a flair to the team, plus the players(most of them) were the guys who played under him as a unit in the youth team . The team had a midfield unit spearheaded by Riquelme/Lucho/Aimar (Juan Roman Riquelme who was in the form of his life, fresh from his champions league expoits Semi finals with Villareal, controllling any game at his pace) , and Leo Messi, Maxi Rodriguez, as wingers and Cambiasso/Mascherano as holding midfielder in a diamond formation. And tevez and crespo as strikers and very experienced defense with veterans like Ayala, and Sorin , Heinze and so packed that the team didn't have place for Zanetti(Javier). This team was so dominant with one touch passing football that they thrashed Serbia-Montenegro 6-0 en route to quarters.

Unfortunately they lost to germany in penalties (very ironic compared to 1978) but so was the luck , and Ironically Italy won the world cup , arguably no expected winners. Thats how the World cup works .

Now yet again the season has come, and my bets on Argentina yet again. But they are not playing that football and have different coach . They survived a scare en route to qualifying to WC . but the team still has an amazing set of players, but unbelievably they didn't show their mettle yet under Diego Maradona as the coach, maybe saving it for the WC. They have angel di maria as a left winger doing some amazing stuff at benfica , really an exciting prospect, very quick and good dribbler and powerful left foot. On the right wing is Leo Messi, no introduction needed, in the form of his life scoring goals all the time , Fifa World Player , driblling skills (or rather Ball Control)only next to Maradona, Datolo another prospect , Veron is back as creative mid fielder or creator, and Macherano at the holding position. The forwards are something to talk about apart from the amazing midfield - Sergia Aguero , plundering I repeat plundering goals for Atletico Madrid ,in Champions League, Europa, Primera, as a poacher, as a striker, as a forward/trequartista style, creating them , scoring from free kicks, he is filling your complete forward role like a Rooney, thats is just Aguero, then Higuain - must say good form for Real Madrid except for a blip in Champions league , he is been in argualbly his best form for Madrid , doing the strikers part,and then come Milito and Tevez , Tevez is scoring more goals then he used to at Man Utd , that means a hell lot at City , and so is Milito . So thats four strikers who are probably in the top of scoring charts in three leagues ( Spanish, English, Italian) ...wow this not including Messi ! Thats the argentina team .

But the Hopeful part is that well they might not be playing their best football and so by the Murphy's Law following WC they have a better chance to win the WC this time then 2006 . But if they do play beautiful football the god help them to win the WC, or maybe they can themselves !
